Francesco Ranieri Martinotti - Director, Screenwriter and President ANAC (Associazione Nazionale Autori Cinematografici) With his debut film Abissinia, presented at the 46th Cannes Film Festival, he won the 1994 David di Donatello as best first-time director and participated in Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival. In 1995 he wrote and produced Cresceranno i carciofi a Mimongo, nominated for a David di Donatello. In 1999 he directed Branchie, based on the novel by Niccolò Ammaniti. He collaborates with Mauro Berardi on the documentaries Un altro mondo è possibile and Genova. Per noi (2001). In 2006 he wrote and directed Ti lascio perché ti amo troppo, with Alessandro Siani.

In 2008 he founded the France Odeon Festival in Florence. He is co-founder of Giornate degli autori - Venice Days in Venice. From 2008 to 2010 he serves on the board of the European Film Academy. In 2012 he made the documentary Furio Scarpelli: Il racconto prima di tutto, which was nominated for a Nastro d’argento. In 2015 he presents Il segreto d'Otello at the Berlin Film Festival and Barbieri d'Italia on Rai Tre. In 2021 he makes L'onda lunga to celebrate ANAC's 70th anniversary. In 2022 he directs Passione cinema, presented at the Venice Film Festival. Since 2015, he has been president of ANAC and created the "Carlo Lizzani Award." Since 2018, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the David di Donatello Film Academy and the Supervisory Board of the SIAE. He is also a juror of the Premio Strega. In 2019 he founds the Leo Benvenuti screenwriting school with Umberto Marino, Nicola Guaglianone and Gabriele Mainetti. In 2022 he receives the Sergio Amidei award for film culture in Gorizia. As director of France Odeon, he has curated several conferences on Italian-French film culture.
