Chiara Valenti Omero
Chiara Valenti Omero was born in Trieste on November 12, 1963. Since 2002 she has been vice-president of the Maremetraggio Association. Since the same year she has also been overseeing the organization and artistic direction of "ShorTS International Film Festival" held annually in Trieste the first week of July. From January 2011 to March 2024, she was president of the Maremetraggio Association with which she has overseen the production of several short films, including Renzo Carbonera's La penna di Hemingway, starring Sergio Rubini, Christiane Filangieri, Cosimo Cinieri and Francesco Barilli, which premiered at Venice Days in 2011 and whose rights were acquired by Studio Universal. Since March 2007, she has been on the board of AFIC (Associazione Festival Italiani Cinema) and from 2015 to 2022 she was its president.
From 2012 to 2020, on behalf of ENAIP FVG, she was in charge of organizing and coordinating a professional course of 300/400 hours in Audio/Video Shooting Techniques dedicated to inmates housed inside the Trieste Prison. From 2014 to 2022 for the Casa del Cinema in Trieste she was in charge of the conception and organization of the project Esterno/Giorno - film walks on the sets of the FVG Region. From December 2016 to January 2020 she was Vice President of the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia (Il Rossetti). From September 2018 to September 2022 she was Vice President of the Casa del Cinema Association of Trieste. In 2018 she produced three documentaries on the Microareas of Trieste, part of the Città Visibile project financed for the year 2018 by SIAE (Bando Sillumina), which included 6 months of work on the territory and the realization of writing, directing and editing workshops. The film collecting the three documentaries was invited as a special event to the 30th edition of Trieste Film Festival (January 2019). As of May 2022, she is the new Coordinator of Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission on behalf of PromoTurismo FVG.
