We are a nonprofit organization focused on training, researching, producing and experimenting with new languages of cinematography and audiovisual media.
Cross-border Film School was founded in Gorizia, on the heels of the border between Italy and Slovenia. It is settled in the uniqueness of this cultural area and it sees the border as a fertile and creative territory where different identities meet, interchange and merge together for the growth and development the cinematographic arts.
Cross-border Film School is chaired by director Ivan Gergolet (Dancing with Maria 2014, The Man Without Guilt 2023), and the board consists of directors Davide Del Degan (The Last Resort 2016, Paradise – A New Life 2020) and Matteo Oleotto (Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot 2013, I Wanted to Be a Rockstar 2019), creative producer Antonella Perrucci (The Invisible Boy by G. Salvatores 2014, One Kiss by Ivan Cotroneo 2016), and Lawyer Matteo Roiz (legal consultant for film/audiovisual businesses).
The association is led by a staff with converging expertise and twenty-year experience, as highlighted by the numerous awards (Nastri d’Argento Nomination, Globo d’Oro, David di Donatello, European Film Awards), dedicated to the idea of cinema as an inclusive art and a tool for personal and social growth and emancipation.
