The Cross-border Film School Association in the framework of the pilot project called ‘MILLE ANNI DI STORIA AL CENTRO DELL’EUROPA: BORGO CASTELLO CROCEVIA DI POPOLI E DI CULTURE’ referred to in Measure 2 Component 3 Culture 4.0. (M1C3), financed by the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (so-called “NRRP”) M1C3 MEASURE 2 INVESTMENT 2.1 LINE A NextGenerationEU – CUP F88F2200007, in collaboration with the training centre Ad Formandum cooperativa sociale socialna zadruga promotes the realisation of three high level training courses entitled:
- SCREENWRITING – CREATIVE WRITING AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- FILM PRODUCTION – INTERNATIONAL FINANCING AND CO-PRODUCTION
- FILM DIRECTION – CREATIVE PROCESS AND COORDINATION OF AN ARTISTIC WORKING GROUP
With this call for applications, the Association aims to identify, select and train young students who will contribute to the development of the art and craft of filmmaking.
The training programmes are spread over an entire course year, are taught in English, and are aimed at the cooperation of students from different countries and backgrounds who will gather in a lively and creative border area, where the encounter, exchange and fusion of different identities are the essential ingredients for the growth of the audiovisual and film industry.
The courses aim to provide selected candidates with professionalizing skills by means of training sessions, discussions, and direct collaborations with professionals from the film industry.
Participants will work alongside directors, screenwriters, producers, executive producers, assistant directors, editors, rep agents, audiovisual and film distributors, post-production-related personnel, as well as regional, national, and international film institutions.
The total duration of each training course is 300 hours distributed over 10 months. Classes will be held once a month, from Thursday to Sunday, each session corresponding to 32 training hours.
In July 2025 Participants will complete the academic year by participating in Masterclasses and workshops (see Art. 2) and take the end-of-course exams.
Attendance and participation in classes are compulsory for at least 75% of the total number of hours.
Course attendance is free of charge.
A total of 15 places are available, divided as follows:
- 5 places for the SCREENWRITING – CREATIVE WRITING AND TECHNICAL SKILLS course
- 5 places for the FILM PRODUCTION – INTERNATIONAL FINANCING AND CO-PRODUCTION course
- 5 places for the FILM DIRECTION – CREATIVE PROCESS AND COORDINATION OF AN ARTISTIC WORKING GROUP course

- MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION: THE DISTRIBUTION ACTIVITY, TARGET MARKETS AND COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES OF A FILM PROJECT
PRACTICAL EXERCISES
- PITCH SCREENPLAYS – Presentation of scripts and mood boards to international PRODUCERS
- PRE-PRODUCTION – PRODUCTION – POST-PRODUCTION OF A SHORT FILM
